The River of Light and Shadow painting is my homage to the small, frozen river that winds through my little town.
On a clear, crisp winter day, when the air bites your face and your nose crinkles with each icy breath, the snow is bright with glittering prisms, and the shadows are dark and colourful. Everything dazzles and glows.
I love to pause along this river and soak in the scene. It’s hard to make myself go outside in the cold of winter, but my warm woolens and these beautiful moments make it worthwhile.
River of Light and Shadow is painted in acrylics on canvas using a very limited colour palette for maximum impact.
This painting features rich turquoise blues, misty greys, and warm and cool whites. The edges of the canvas are painted pale turquoise blue, so it’s ready to hang as is; framing is optional. Hanging wires are attached.
UV-protective archival varnish over archival-quality pigments mean this painting should last for generations if cared for. For extra protection, hang it away from direct sunlight, and take care not to lean it against anything that could stretch or distort the canvas. Spot clean gently with a clean, damp cloth.
